Bio

Omega: unlimited potential and ultimate threat

Character Name: Robert "Bobby" Drake
Character Codename: Iceman
Character Age: 25
Character Sexuality: None of your business.
Character Appearance
Height: 5'8
Weight: 145
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown

Character Powers: Iceman is able to lower his external and internal body temperature, thereby radiating intense cold. In addition, he can transform himself into ice at will and freeze any moisture in the air around him -- thus generating slides, shields, bats and other objects. He is immune to subzero temperatures. At this point he can alter his physical form, and mass, resulting in spikes, etc. projecting or projected from his body. He is classed Omega, the most powerful of mutants. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Bobby is unwilling to totally develop those skills. He has the ability to manipulate and control both water and vapor, and take the form of both. For the sake of this game those controls are far less evolved. He can manipulate water, as a liquid or gas, to some degree, but he will not be taking the form of either. Girl's gotta give the GM a break.

Character Strengths: He had a wonderful sense of humor. He's also got a good sense of team work, works hard, and plays fair. He's ... the boy next door. Honest, fair, dependable and reliable. He tries to get along with everyone and allows very few people or situations to rattle him. Obviously his mutations are a strength, at least in that they're skills and abilities and he uses them well. See that section.

Character Weaknesses: Bobby is incredibly insecure. Humor covers a lot. He's not comfortable with his mutation, or himself. Getting along with everyone has a price, and so does wanting to be liked and to be normal. Lots of hidden issues but those issues are his own business, thanks. Very open to telepathic or empathic influence. He's current, slowly, turning into ice. Against his will, and out of his control. He is not happy about this. In fact if pressed he will become defensive, angry, and bitter. Under the humor he's an elitist, a snob, and a general all around jackass. He's not proud of it, but there it is.

Character History:
Bobby Drake discovered his mutant power to create ice while in his early teens, yet kept his condition hidden from everyone but his parents. When bullies attacked Bobby and his girlfriend, the youngster panicked. He temporarily encased their ringleader in ice, thus revealing his abilities for all to see. Believing the boy to be a menace, the townspeople organized a lynch mob. They broke into Bobby's home and overpowered him, but the local sheriff took the teenager into custody for his own protection. Meanwhile, the situation had come to the attention of telepath Charles Xavier -- mentor to the masked, mutant X-Men.

Professor X dispatched his first X-Man -- Cyclops, cursed with uncontrollable optic blasts -- to contact Bobby. Cyclops stole into the jail house as planned, but the two began fighting when Bobby refused to accompany him. Caught by the lynch mob, Cyclops and Bobby were about to be hanged when they broke free. Professor X used his psionic powers to halt the townspeople in their tracks and erase their memories of Bobby's abilities. A grateful Bobby then accepted Xavier's invitation to enroll at his School for Gifted Youngsters, home to a handful of troubled teenagers learning to control their strange powers...and fighting to preserve their teacher's dream of peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants.

Hated and feared by humanity, the X-Men honed their amazing abilities while standing in defense of a world pushed to the brink of genetic war by a handful of mutant terrorists. Iceman, the team's youngest founding member, became known as the comedian of the group. Regardless, he pulled his weight and worked well with rest of the X-Men.

Bobby has had 2 incidents within the fairly recent past, which increased his powers almost out of his control. In fact if turning into a block of sentient ice is any indication it is out of control. He's had a close encounter of a very strange kind with Emma Frost and generally had a rough go of it fairly recently. For a boy who just wanted to be normal, it doesn't seem to be happening.

He's tried to find love, normalcy and acceptance. He's nearly succeeded and failed repeatedly. More than once at the hands of Scott Summers' brother Alex. All in all while his sense of humor is still present there is something within him that is slowly freezing, becoming brittle. And it isn't just his body.

Also timeline wise--

Bobby has not yet turned into he utter jackass that he is in the end of the written series, to the point of flat out saying no one but he, Scott, Jean, Hank, and Warren are X-men and so forth. He is also, obviously, not all ice. At this point he is turning into ice form, and he can't stop it. The progression of this will be significantly slower in game. The direction may change altogether. It is, after all, a game and not simply a rerun of the comic.
